So this is it, my first REAL (did I say REAL?) fashion show that I'm going to walk in as a REAL runway model!!! This is it, my career is launching TODAY! It's been a really, really long day too. I sat in a Passport to Discovery orientation meeting all day. And now it's time for the show! Wish me luck!
Today my mom drug me to a tryout, yikes! What the heck? She said if I get picked it'd be good practice for Passport to Discovery. So it's for this group called Coastal Fashion Week: The Movement and Mrs. Kymberly Soule puts on these shows, it's all non-profit and for a good cause. CFW was created to increase awareness of local charities, encourage development in the area of fashion design and modeling, and to enhance the visibility of the Gulf Coast as a center of Southern fashion. Result...drum roll....I got picked! So now what? I guess I'll find out.
So today was another tryout. This one was to participate in a Barbizon competition in Dallas, TX on Aug. 4th. I got selected, so I'm going to Dallas, I'm so excited!!
Today was the day! We were asked to try out to go on Passport to Discovery! There were about 300 people there and they only selected 50 and I was one of them!!!! I'm so excited! So I'll be going on a cruise called Passport to Discovery in October, 2019. And there will be over 100 talent scouts/talent agents on board who will be checking out all the contestants for a whole week. And after THAT...I might get some offers to be signed by an agent who will book jobs for me in modeling or acting. I've got almost a whole year to prepare, it's going to be great. Here's a picture of me in the line up to do my TV commercial, “I have to have my Kellogg’s Corn Pops!”
Wow! Today was my last Barbizon class. I'm officially a Model, certified by Barbizon. I'm so excited and I can't wait to get my career started. The 6 classes were all amazing. We learned things about how to do a monologue in acting, how to walk down a runway in a fashion show and also about manners. We learned how to eat properly at a table and use all the utensils properly because we might, one day, be eating with a prospective employer, #moviemaker, #fashionshow, #talentagent. We also learned about what to say in an interview and how to dress to look your best. Of course the girls have it harder, so I like being a boy model, it's a snap for us :).
Today was my first day in the Barbizon class. The classes are once a month for 6 months. The class was from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and only a short lunch break. Phew! That's a long time to be in class for a kid, I'm only 10 years old! But this is the start of my journey to becoming a kid model or actor. I already play piano, have been since 1st grade and I want to build on that too one day because I really love music. I'm getting into modeling because I think it might be a great way to earn some cash, yeah! $$$$$$ I have worked a lemonade stand since I was 6 years old but that's a lot of hard work flagging down customers in the sun all day. I must say, however, I am pretty successful at it. Some people give me $20 or $5 just because they like to see a kid working, woo hoo, I love those customers.
Anyway, today was a great day, I really liked the Barbizon class and I can't wait to see what they tell us next month! |
